View Larger Map Great house, great location - four blocks from Edgartown center - WALK TO EVERYTHING. This is my home at 44 Plantingfield Way, Edgartown, built on land that was once farmed by my great-grandparents, the house in which I have lived for the past thirty years and where I raised my three children. With my children grown and gone, I have moved back to my own childhood home on Main Street and am now offering this traditional post and beam, farm-house style home for seasonal rentals. This north side of the house faces a large yard and wildflower meadow. The property features: 4 bedrooms: A. 2 twins; B. 1 full; C. 1 full; D. 1 queen. Sleeps 8 adults. 1 1/2 baths, plus outdoor shower. Deck with outdoor seating and grill. Cable/Wi-Fi A large yard, diagonally across the street from Sheriff's Meadow wildlife preserve; the best of both worlds: a semi rural neighborhood, four blocks from Edgartown's historic center. 2 miles from the best family swimming beach on the planet: Bend in the Road Beach (aka State Beach); 3 miles from South Beach - all accessible via bike paths and public transportation. A five minute walk to town and a 15 minute back-woods walk to Edgartown Lightouse Beach. Everyone loves this house - and the location. June and September on the island have long been among the world's best-kept secrets. $2,750/wk, July and August; 1,500/wk, June and September (plus cleaning fee). Rentals run Saturday - Saturday. (NO PETS, NO SMOKING)View from Fuller Street Beach to Edgartown Lighthouse. The small stream on the right was once connected to Eel Pond, and full of blue claw crabs. We spent many hours here as kids catching blue claws. Walking back up Fuller Street, it is a short walk over to the lighthouse and back to town via North Water Street.
