Sara's Birthday 10-22-07
In 1968 I was 18; and since we are back in '68 - the Jewish year 5768, that is - I have decided to re-set to 18. I loved 18 - I had the world at my feet and was full of energy, joy, and hope - and 18 is a great number = Chai = Life! On Monday night, on Plantingfield Way, in my newly finished dining room, I made a little party for myself, complete with carrot cake (from a mix - unlike the days when the kids were small and every year I would make knuckle-scraping carrot cake with honey and whole wheat flower and cream cheese frosting; at the end of every party I would go around the table and toss every plate of cake into the trash - yes, the Duncan Hines version is much easier - and definitely does not end up in the trash).
I was experimenting with my old 50mm/1.4 lens that night - and no flash - and decided, in keeping with the retro theme, to convert some of the images to b/w.
