Lauds for Advent
Continuing the chanting project that I began at the beginning of Lent 2021. These are my actual prayers, not a performance, though I do try to make a pleasing sound - not always easy to do at 5am. You will find the text and some of the hymns in the Universalis app. This is Lauds for Ordinary Time, weeks I - IV.
Not only do I enjoy creating these recordings, I also appreciate having them to listen to during the course of the day whenever I need a little pick-me-up - a good argument for taking up the other hours of the day at some point I suppose (my next project will be to record Compline - I love the nighttime psalms and melodies).
As I've said many times, the words of the psalms are extremely powerful - authored by Christ himself - and immersing myself in these ancient words that affirm every human emotion and condition has been life-changing.
